November 2025 Newsletter

Hello everyone, I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by! I hope everyone finds comfort and care this Thanksgiving, surrounded by the warmth of friends and family. May this season bring moments of gratitude, connection, and rest as we all reflect on all that we have to be thankful for. Wishing everyone a safe and joyful holiday!

Reminders:

The next City Council meeting will be on November 12th, 2025.

Council meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at 6PM in the Bruce Community Room attached to the City Office.

If you have a grievance, please stop by the City Office and complete a Formal Complaint Form or you can request one by emailing cityofbruce@gmail.com.

With winter season coming upon us please remember that vehicles that are left on roadways with 1” or more of snow are subject to be towed at the owner’s expense as it prohibits from properly clearing roadways.

Snow and ice on sidewalks. Snow and ice shall be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours after snow or ice fall has occurred. If removal is impossible by reason of it being frozen the record owner shall sprinkle or spread a suitable material to prevent the walk from becoming slippery and dangerous.

Mayor Report:

Happy November everyone! During my first few months as mayor, a few things have changed. I first want to welcome Lesley Matthys from Ward 1 and Paul Hartley from Ward 3 to city council. Also, welcome to Zack Stokes who started in July as our city maintenance manager. 

A few things the council is working on for 2026 are improvements to our campground and parks, updating our city website, and researching the slurry that Brookings and some surrounding towns used to topcoat their roads. Seeing if this is something we can do on our roads and possibly up on the Doe and Tee streets.
